CPU Research Assistant

Position Type: Full-time

Job Duties:

  • Collect and process phlebotomy and laboratory specimens, place electrocardiograms, collect vital signs;
  • Assist with adverse event reporting, and monitor other protocol-specific activities, such as study participant admission/discharge to the unit, meals, and recreational activities;
  • Perform routine lab and exam room maintenance such as equipment calibration, waste disposal, preparation of study participant areas, etc.;
  • Maintain accurate and legible logs and tracking sheets; and
  • Demonstrate accurate and thorough documentation procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED;
  • Certified paramedic with at least one year of work experience;
  • Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy;
  • Skills in intravenous catheter placement and ACLS are a plus;
  • Basic computer skills, especially using Microsoft® Word and Excel; and
  • Good organizational, written, and oral skills.

Working Conditions:

  • Associate may be exposed to communicable diseases, including blood-borne pathogens; and
  • Associate will be required to stand/walk for extensive periods of time with bending, stooping/stretching, and lifting/carrying ≥50 pounds.
