CPU Research Assistant

Position Type: Full-time
Job Duties:
- Collect and process phlebotomy and laboratory specimens, place electrocardiograms, collect vital signs;
- Assist with adverse event reporting, and monitor other protocol-specific activities, such as
study participant admission/discharge to the unit, meals, and recreational activities;
- Perform routine lab and exam room maintenance such as equipment calibration, waste disposal, preparation of
study participant areas, etc.;
- Maintain accurate and legible logs and tracking sheets; and
- Demonstrate accurate and thorough documentation procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED;
- Certified paramedic with at least one year of work experience;
- Demonstrated skills in phlebotomy;
- Skills in intravenous catheter placement and ACLS are a plus;
- Basic computer skills, especially using Microsoft® Word and Excel; and
- Good organizational, written, and oral skills.
Working Conditions:
- Associate may be exposed to communicable diseases, including blood-borne pathogens; and
- Associate will be required to stand/walk for extensive periods of time with bending, stooping/stretching,
and lifting/carrying ≥50 pounds.
