About Véronique Mahaux, MD, PhD
Dr. Véronique Mahaux is a certified cardiologist with more than 28 years of clinical research experience and leadership roles in academia, medical device industry, and global contract research organizations. After nine years of clinical practice and medical research as Head of the Pacing clinic of the University of Liège, Belgium, she joined the medical device industry as Clinical Research Manager within Medtronic, designing and overseeing Heart Failures outcomes programs. In addition, Dr. Mahaux has extensive experience as a medical director and subject matter expert working at contract research organizations including Quintiles (now IQVIA) and INC Research (now Syneos Health) where she provided her expertise in Heart Failure, Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension, Arrhythmias and Medical Devices. Dr. Mahaux received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Liège, Belgium, specializing in cardiology. She continued her education at the University of Liège, receiving her Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Science. She is an International member of the Heart Rhythm Society, the European Society of Cardiology and the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology.
About Toshihiro Hokonohara, MD
Dr. Toshihiro Hokonohara is board-certified in neurology with over 15 years of clinical practice and experience in leadership roles at pharmaceutical and global contract research organizations. Prior to joining Medpace, Dr. Hokonohara provided Medical Monitoring on CNS, immunology, oncology, and internal medicine for Quintiles Transnational Japan (now IQVIA). As Medical Doctor for Sanofi Japan, he provided medical review and was safety lead for products. Dr. Hokonohara earned his medical degree from Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan and completed residency at Kyushu University Hospital. He is a board certified Neurologist of the Japanese Neurology Society and member of the Japanese Society of Internal Medicine.
About Patrick Sobande, MD, FCCP
Dr. Patrick Sobande is a board-certified clinician with 22+ years of experience in leadership positions in various academic and healthcare institutions. Dr. Sobande spent over 10 years at Dayton’s Children’s Hospital, during which he served as Medical Director for Respiratory Care Services & Pulmonary Diagnostic Laboratory. Immediately prior to joining Medpace, he served as a physician for Stephen’s Pedi & Pulmonary Practice, PA in Fort Worth, TX. Dr. Sobande earned his medical degree from Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ogun State, Nigeria and completed fellowship training in pediatric pulmonary at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr Sobande is Fellow of the College of Chest Physicians, and a certified member of the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
