Medpace histology offers routine and novel pathology services, including tissue processing, sectioning, general and special stains, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization and digital pathology services with the ability to perform select assays in a CAP-accredited, CLIA-certified laboratory.
Medpace’s histology services complement the central lab’s continually expanding molecular and flow cytometry capabilities to help Medpace manage oncology clinical trials. We have been proactive in implementing testing capabilities that match the spectrum of oncology clinical development approaches needed to support pharmaceutical industry partners.

Medpace Histology Team and Leadership
Medpace has an experienced histology team overseen by board-certified pathologists, PhD-level scientists, and certified histotechnologists with over 20 years of experience in anatomic and clinical pathology. We have on-site project managers that manage studies conducted in Cincinnati and are integrated into the global project management team.
Robert McGee, MD PhD – Senior Medical Director, Clinical Laboratory, US
Dr. McGee is board certified in both anatomic and clinical pathology and brings 24 years of combined experience in diagnostic and central laboratory anatomic pathology/histology to Medpace. He is an active committee member of the College of American Pathologists, with assignments to the Digital and Computational Pathology Committee and Reproductive Medicine Committee.
Eric Hugo, PhD – Scientist, US
Dr. Hugo is a PhD scientist with over 20 years of specialized experience in adipocyte and cancer biology clinical research and leadership roles in academia. His experience includes the development of immunohistochemical procedures for identifying new tumor biomarkers in breast and head and neck cancers.
