With a background in public accounting, making an impact in healthcare on a global scale wasn’t something Account Analyst Emma Torpey thought possible. As Emma began looking for her next career move, she knew that she wanted to step into to a different industry while still getting to use her accounting background. However, clinical research isn’t exactly what she had in mind.
“I was lucky enough to be referred to Medpace through a former co-worker,” Emma shares. “Clinical research was not something I was necessarily searching for, but I am glad I ended up here!”

Transitioning between industries can be daunting, but Emma was determined to stretch her skills. In taking the leap, Emma now finds herself simultaneously reaching for her accounting skills while also diversifying her workload through new tasks such as contract management and meeting with Sponsors. “It’s a job where I get to use my analytical skills and degree,” Emma explains. “But I also feel like my daily contributions are making an impact for the greater good.”
