Exciting CNS Breakthroughs

In a recent PharmaVoice article Brain Wave: Breakthroughs Bring New Hope to CNS Dr. Rick Scheyer, Vice-President, Medical Affairs at Medpace, provides comment on the state of neurodegenerative diseases and related clinical trials.

The article asks SMEs to discuss recent exciting developments in CNS conditions showing significant promise. Some areas are: muscular dystrophies, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, Alzheimer’s disease, migraine, epilepsy, and depression.

“While great strides are being made for neurodevelopmental diseases, disease-modifying therapies for neurodegenerative diseases remain an elusive target,” Dr. Scheyer says. “Nonclinical models are improving but remain problematic.”
