Savio Kumar, MD – Medical Director
Dr. Savio Kumar is a board-certified nephrologist with an extensive background in academic and private practice nephrology. He brings more than 10 years of clinical and research experience in medicine. As a private practice nephrologist, Dr. Kumar provided inpatient consultation in the greater Cincinnati area at several hospitals, including Atrium Medical Center, UC West Chester Hospital, Bethesda Butler, Mercy Fairfield, Jewish Hospital, Mercy West, Bethesda North, The Christ Hospital, and Good Samaritan Hospital. Additionally, he served as Medical Director of dialysis units, and training of medical residents. In 2021, Dr. Kumar was voted Cincinnati’s Best Doc in Nephrology by patients and peers in Cincy Magazine. With the addition of Dr. Kumar, Medpace further strengthens its capabilities in clinical development across a full range of renal indications for both drug and medical devices.
Dr. Kumar received his medical degree from the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio. His postgraduate training was completed at the University of Cincinnati and includes his residency in Internal Medicine and his fellowship in Nephrology. He holds board certifications in both Nephrology and Internal Medicine.
Ineta Sosare, MD, PED, NEP – Medical Director
Dr. Ineta Sosare is a board-certified nephrologist and pediatrician with more than 18 years of therapeutic expertise gleaned from her roles as a physician and in academia. She brings extensive medical monitoring experience in phase II-III global studies in autoimmune disorders, glomerulonephritis, chronic kidney disease, kidney transplant, and pediatric trials including phenylketonuria, familial hypercholesterolemia, and infantile hemangioma. In her previous roles, Dr. Sosare provided medical expertise to project teams on clinical drug development, throughout the lifecycle of compounds, including supporting study design and generating study protocol.
Dr. Sosare received her medical degree from the Medical Academy of Latvia in Rida, Latvia. She continued her education at the Medical Academy of Latvia, receiving diplomas in Nephrology and Pediatrics.
Sudha Alphonse, RN, NMP, MSc, PGCert, Dip GNM – Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Ms. Alphonse is a NMC registered Nurse (Adult), Teacher and Nurse Prescriber providing support to the Medpace Clinical Operations and Medical Monitor teams focused in Nephrology. Ms. Alphonse has 14 years of clinical renal specialized experience including Dialysis – Haemodialysis and Peritoneal, Vascular access complications, Renal Transplantation, Plasma Exchange, Low Clearance Clinics, and providing expert nephrology consultations in both outpatient and inpatient environments for conditions such as Acute Kidney Injury, various stages of Chronic Kidney Disease, Hepatorenal syndrome, Autoimmune diseases within the leading private healthcare facility and national healthcare services. This experience was enriched by the nephrology specialized qualifications, advanced assessment, prescribing, and educational qualifications from the renowned King’s College London, and provides guest lectures for the Renal Course module.
In collaboration with the Medpace Medical Monitors, Ms. Alphonse as an ACP engages throughout the life of the clinical trials. Ms. Alphonse supports the study activities by providing therapeutic and clinical expertise, team training, and offers insight into best practices to identify and recruit trial subjects.
Prudence King, MSN, AGPCNP-BC – Advanced Clinical Practitioner
Ms. King is a board-certified adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner providing support to the Medpace Clinical Operations and Medical Monitor teams focused in Nephrology. Ms. King has over 28 years of clinical renal specialized experience including dialysis for adults and pediatrics- hemodialysis and peritoneal, CAVH/CVVH, and providing expert nephrology consultations in both outpatient and inpatient environments for conditions such as acute kidney injury and various stages of chronic kidney disease. Additionally, she served as Clinical Director of Dialysis, where she managed the day-to-day operation of a sixteen-chair outpatient dialysis center, a two-bed inpatient unit, and peritoneal dialysis clinic. In addition, Ms. King also has extensive experience in public health nursing including home care, hospice, and palliative care.
Ms. King received her Master of Science in Nursing Education as well as her Post Masters Certificate degree from Keuka College. She is board certified and a member of the American Nephrology Nurses Association.
